SAISD Parents Living on County Roads Affected by Flooding

Monday, May 13, 2024:

To SAISD Parents Living on County Roads Affected by Flooding:

Due to flooding of several of our county roads, buses may be unable to pick up your children in the morning, Tuesday, May 14th.

The areas of most concern are the following:

County Roads in the Denning Area;
around Ironosa Creek;
County Roads west of Hwy 96
and County Roads south of Hwy 103

The Transportation Department will make every effort to get to these locations tomorrow morning, but please be advised that this may not be possible if the rain continues. Thank you for your understanding.

Parents & Community

This morning we were notified of a threat made on Snap Chat to "SA". The threat was not directed at SAISD and was not specific. Our SAISD Police Chief and local law enforcement were contacted and are investigating.

Two hour delay to Start of School on Monday May 13th 2024

Due to hazardous road conditions, there will be a 2-hour delay for the start of school for Monday, May 13th. Tomorrow morning, school buses will pick children up 2 hours later than the regular time.

!! Dr. Liepman and SAISD Announces Holiday this Friday !!

Dear Parents, & Community,
Every year, SAISD banks extra minutes each day in case of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances causing the district to close. This year the district has accumulated enough minutes for five extra school days on the district calendar. The district closed three of those five days this school year for flooding and freezing roads.

With that being said, and with Mother’s Day on Sunday, the district is pleased to announce that Friday, May 10, 2024 will be a school holiday for students and staff. School will resume on Monday, May 13, 2024 at the regular time. Happy Mother’s Day to all!
