This Saturday morning class is free, voluntary and will be held in February and March at the times shown below. We will meet in the Middle School computer lab from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday mornings. Light drinks and snacks will be provided.
The intent of this class is to increase students’ skills in keyboarding and in using classroom technology for assignments, projects and such. Also, this course will help prepare students for using Middle School technology while broadening their knowledge of computers, software, systems and digital devices in the SAISD educational technology environment.
In addition to keyboarding exercises, a variety of other fun technology projects will be included in the mix though the primary goal is to increase the productivity of our students when using SAISD’s computers, software, systems or digital devices.
No permission form is required to attend but there will be a sign-in sheet for the students. Students must arrive Saturdaymorning by 9:10 a.m. as school doors will be locked and closed at that time. Also, students must have a ride to and from the middle school as there are no buses running on Saturday. Lastly, students must adhere to district dress code (as these are school events).
We look forward to helping our 5th grade students increase their knowledge and skills in technology as the world in which they are growing up (educational and post-gradation) requires increasingly more technological skills no matter which career path they ultimately pursue.
Tech Dates: Feb 7, 14, 21, 28
Mar 7, 14, 28 (we will not meet on March 21 due to Spring Break)
