Elementary:
The Pre-K Student of the Month for May was Za’Riyah Garrett. Her teachers said, "Za’Riyah was chosen for this honor because she is so well behaved in our class. Even though this is her first year in PK, she really tries to listen and pay attention and follow directions. She knows all her letters, sounds, and numbers. We are very pleased with her progress this year and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next year and the years to come." Za’Riyah is the daughter of Zach and Cyreetha Garrett and is in Mrs. Sylvia Nielson and Jackie White's class.
The Kindergarten Student of the Month for May was Destinee Jenkins. Destine is the 6 year old daughter of Farliesha Simmons and Kendrick Jenkins. Destine is a hard worker inside the classroom. She has a sweet personality and is a kind friend to everyone. She loves to read to her teacher as well as her classmates. She is already on reading level 4 and performs top of the class on the Istation program. Mrs. Lott feels very blessed to have Destinee in her room this year and can’t wait to see her progress through the end of the school year and in the coming years.
The 1st grade Student of the Month for May was Adyn Thomas. Adyn is the 6 year old son of Conchetta Taylor and Eric Thomas. His favorite thing about school is doing work, and his favorite subject is writing. When he is not working hard at school he enjoys drawing. When he grows up he wants to be a police officer, and a log truck driver. Adyn's favorite person in the whole wide world is his Uncle Kenneth Taylor! He was chosen for this honor because of his hard work ethic, and his outstanding personality. Adyn is in Mrs. Anissa Smith's homeroom.
The 2nd grade Student of the Month for May was McKenzie Hernandez. McKenzie is a sweet little girl, who always tries her best, and never gets into trouble. Her favorite subject is Reading, and in her spare time she enjoys playing with her sisters. McKenzie is the daughter of Yajaira Rodriguez.
The 3rd grade Student of the Month for May was Jentzen McGown. Jentzen is an awesome student who is very well behaved and always shows respect to his teachers. His favorite subject is math and in his spare time he enjoys playing his PS3. When he grows up he would like to be a famous football player. Jentzen is the son of Crystal McGown. He is in Mrs. Linda Skadowski’s homeroom.
The 4th grade Student of the Month for May was Alexander Niniz-Fabian. As teachers we are so excited to end our year with such a great student! Alex’s favorite subject is writing, he loves to draw as well, and carries a journal with him where ever he goes. He is an excellent student and we are so happy that he represents our school. In his spare time he enjoys playing with his baby brother. One thing that Alex would like for us to know about him is it is important to work hard and believe in yourself, so your dreams can come true! Alex is the son of Guillermo Niniz and Maria Fabian. His teachers are Maureen Carlton, Tiffany Lozoya, and Marjorie Boyer.
The 5th grade Student of the Month for May was KeJaylon Mosby. KeJaylon is an all around great person, he is a very dedicated student who cares about his grades and has great behavior in the classroom. His favorite subject is Science. In his spare time he enjoys playing sports, and he wants to be a football player when he is older. KeJaylon is the son of Crystal and Wesley Mosby.

High School:
The 6th grade Student of the Month for May was Ja'Myia Barnes. Ja'Myia is the daughter of Tomekia Wade and Jamarticus Barnes. Her favorite subject is science and her favorite teacher is Mr. Floyd because he makes his class fun. In her free time, Ja'Myia loves to braid hair. She is looking forward to next year so she can be involved in athletics and can't wait to run track. Ja'Myia hopes to go to cosmetology school after she finishes high school and get a license to do hair and open up her own hair salon. She had perfect attendance for the 2017-2018 school year!
The 7th grade Student of the Month for May was Tamia Sigler. Tamia is the daughter of Tamika and David Sigler. Her favorite subject is science and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Delafield because she always helps her with any problems she has on assignments. In her free time, Tamia enjoys reading educational or funny books. She plans on going to the Army and also work toward a degree to become a lawyer. She had perfect attendance for the 2017-2018 school year!
The 9th grade Student of the Month for May was Jose Sanchez-Cano. Jose is the son of Amparo Sanchez. His favorite class is PE and his favorite teacher is Ms. Johnson because she is nice and always there to help him. In his free time, Jose enjoys listening to music. He plans to become a welder after he finishes high school. He had perfect attendance for the 2017-2018 school year!
The 9th grade Student of the Month for May was Ka'liya Greer. Ka'liyah is the daughter of Deangelia Giles. Her favorite subject is math and her favorite teacher is Ms. Johnson because she is very confident in her teaching. In her free time, Ka'liyah enjoys dancing and reading books. She is involved in athletics. After she finishes high school, Ka'liyah plans to go to Angelina College. She had perfect attendance for the 2017-2018 school year!
The 12th grade Student of the Month for May was Macy Bennefield. Macy is the daughter of Alice Bennefield and Wesley Bennefield. Her favorite subject is Floral Design and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Seale because she is very nice and helpful. In her free time, Macy enjoys shopping, dancing, acting, and hanging out with her family and friends. She is involved in Special Olympics and has been a part of the Ace Superstars cheer team. Macy plans to work with her mom and her aunt after she finishes high school.
