SAISD Students Receive EKG Screenings - March 7th, 2023

 

SAISD Health Service Nurses, along with the Brandon Goyne Foundation, and nursing practicum students were able to administer EKG's to our student-athletes. This simple and painless test is saving lives!

 

Eighty students were able to participate in this life-saving screening through a generous donation from the San Augustine Methodist Church.

 

Karen Noble and Leah Williams, nurses for SAISD, are very grateful for the support shown by the Methodist Church in helping our students live healthier lives.

Students Learn Hands-only CPR to Help Save Lives - March 7, 2023

 

On February 27th, seventh through twelfth-grade students received the hands-only portion of CPR training. During the week, each student took an online class to prepare them for the day. Each student had to receive an 80 or higher to pass the exam offered by Pro-Trainings. SAISD nurses are very grateful for such an amazing program. Pro-trainings offered  the training free of charge for our students. Every student on campus learned the steps needed to save someone's life. Nurse Leah is very proud of the students accomplishment. Everyone were eager to learn, answered the questions quickly, and understood everything they were taught. She is very confident they are able to administer CPR until help arrives.
